Growing Up Psychic

Have you wondered what it’s like growing up psychic? We wanted to know, too.  So we asked a few of our favorite advisors to share their experiences on what it is like being a psychic child.

Most of us tend to picture Psychics as adults who have been working at their craft for years, but we tend to forget that often times they’ve been developing these gifts since childhood. Some children are fortunate enough to recognize their visions as a start of something bigger and nurture their gifts to another level as they mature, as is the case for Cory x7690, Emrys x7565, and Bethany x7823.

As a child, Cory recalls the strong desire to help everyone who had problems.  She continued to develop her gifts throughout childhood and became increasingly aware of their potency in her teens when she would just “know” things. Her friends thought she was “nuts!” This didn’t stop Cory. She knew she possessed a special gift.

For Emrys and Bethany it was a family affair. Emrys is Bethany’s mother and this gift has been passed down for generations. Emrys thought everyone spoke with the dearly departed. In fact, her paternal grandmother communicated via dreams to Emrys that she held the family tradition:  the gift of sight, as well as clairaudience and clairsentience. She admits, “This opened doors for me as far as understanding and appreciating my abilities.” Emrys’ mother and the James Bond movie, “Live and Let Die,” are credited to Emrys’ tarot reading success. After seeing the movie, she became fascinated with tarot cards. Her mother purchased these as a gift for her 12th birthday, sparking her desire to learn more about the psychic arts. She sought out books to read, classes to attend, and as always, she listens to her guides for the wisdom to help others.

The apple certainly didn’t fall far from the tree! Bethany’s gift was nurtured by Emrys. For Bethany, it wasn’t easy growing up as a psychic child with a psychic mother!  Bethany confesses, “The bad part was my mom being a Psychic while I was growing up. Getting in trouble before even doing anything isn’t so much fun!”  However, there was an up side. Bethany’s gifts were nurtured and encouraged by her family. She can recall using them as far back as 5 years old! Bethany shares Cory’s sentiments that as you get older some people may find it hard to believe that you posses such incredible wisdom. But for those of us in contact with the amazing readers of Psychic Source, we know otherwise.

This is just an excerpt from longer interviews with these three amazing women. We will be presenting the full interviews in the near future, so check back soon for more stories. And in the mean time, please be sure to share any comments/stories you have along the topic of Growing Up Psychic!

I was reading in the blog about growing up psychic.  I raised a fuss one morning about going to school when I was 6 years old becasue I knew I was going to lose my Nana.  She lived in PA (Berwyn) and we lived in the Catskills.  My mother made me go to school even though I threw a temper tantrum and told her she'd be coming to school to get me.  I walked a mile to school.  Sure enough Mom showed up a little after noon recess time and told me Nana passed away.   I had tld her Nana was sick and she wasn't happy about it.   Being a little girl, I didn't know what  I saw at the time, but I was picking up Nana being depressed (I guess) because that day she took her life.  She turned the gas jet of the stove on and my Aunt found her with a dish towel over her head.  My Grandpa passed at 56 and Nana took her life at 56.  I also got a message about both of my favorite aunts passing.   I also told my Dad when I was still in grade school (one room school house) the house we were going to buy.

Of course, I didn't know anything about the psiritual world at that time.  I just figured everyone knew things.  My Grandma passed when I was 12 and told the family to pay attention to what I said because I had  received "the knowledge".   My cousing, who is now 74, told me this last year.   My cousing said that Grandma always referred to psychic abilities as having "the knowledge".  She prayed over folks who had the blue bonnet plague and they were healed.  Grass still won't grow in the path up to her front door since then!!!   Grandma's house is over 125 years old and has been remodeled and sold a couple of years ago for over $500,000 and the new owners spent a bunch of money having the soil tested, etc. and grass will not grow in that path!!  They now have put in a sidewalk!!!

My cousin said her mother was going to tell me when I was a teenager about  my "gift", but my Dad didn't want her to.  He was scared of his gift I guess.  He could levitate and all kinds of things and knew things too.   I'll never know why Dad didn't want to discuss this topic.
