Have A Happy 2008!!!

Published on December 31, 2007 11:53 AM by Stephanie

Every year around this time I start to think about what I want to accomplish in the new year.  Usually my resolution list is packed with things to do like lose weight, join a gym, drink more water, visit my parents more often, read more books; you get the idea!  Well, this time I’m going with a different approach. I am resolving to have NO MORE LISTS!  I decided to follow Echkart Tolle’s wisdom from his book The Power Of Now, and live life in the moment rather than from a list that I scribbled down on December 31st

John Lennon once said, “Life is what happens when you are busy making plans.”  Instead of making plans, I’m going to live life. Care to join me?

If you are content with being a perpetual list maker, what’s on your resolution list for 2008? Please share your thoughts with everyone at Psychic Source by posting a comment below!

Best wishes for a happy, healthy and peaceful 2008.

hi Stephanie and all,

you are so right on with your unlisted plans for the new year.... happy happy to you and all.

that book "the power of now" has been sitting on my shelf since 2001- it was a book that really became popular after 9-11 for good reason. it's funny i pulled the book out this morning after i read your blog and inside i found a bookmark with the word SURVIVORS on it - i am a capricorn and the one thing about us caps is that we are survivors to the highest degree.

although the book has been on my shelf for many years including the book mark (: i figure this must be a sign to read it.  i have a habit of buying great books and just having them and not reading them. i must admit i am a list maker but mostly for grocery shopping or i find myself wandering about and bringing home things that catch my eye instead of what i need. also at my age i find i need to write down things i need to do on a daily basis (only if it is really really busy in my life) so i stay organized and don't waste time. the five year projection thing i don't engage in anymore as my life is good and any changes that come are the product of living a fun and happy life and of course of my life is a product of my chanting and buddhist practice.

do you think planning for the future is like making a list?

i am so happy you brought this book up in your blog -i am reading it NOW (as soon as i finish this comment....)

thank you for bringing this into the light for the new year. and may we all live in the NOW with great happiness.

with metta,

-maxine
