Presidential Nominee Natal Charts Part 2 - Senator John McCain
Welcome back to the second installment in our special political/astrological series! As I mentioned in the first post last week, Psychic Source asked resident astrologer Emrys to delve into Presidential Nominee Natal Charts, and she is back with the next part – Senator John McCain. I’ll turn it over to Emrys again to do her thing!

Thanks to the untiring efforts of the omnipresent media to educate the public, we have all had the opportunity to witness the various public faces of the three most prominent contenders for the 2008 Presidential nominations. We’ve seen the very best, and the very worst, of their public personas.
Astrologers are able to see beyond the surface and into a person’s private, hidden core, by studying the complex mathematical relationships between planets and points in an individual’s birth, or natal, chart.
What, then, do the individual charts reveal about the Senators who would be President?
This week I'll look at Republican Party nominee Senator John McCain.

John McCain shares Senator Clinton’s placement of Mars in Leo and a Moon resident in his 4th house along with an ability to handle leadership positions. His care and concern for the country and its citizens is almost impossible for him to ignore; it is so much an integral part of his subconscious.
These aspects, when coupled with a very heavy emphasis on the element of Earth in his natal chart, reveal Senator McCain’s inherent tendency to take care of those for whom he is responsible. This is evident by the placement of the Sun and Venus in Virgo, as well as his practical Capricorn Moon. With his natal Sun conjunct Neptune, and his natal Mercury in the air sign of Libra, his instinctive thought patterns cause him to weigh choices carefully and arrive at pragmatic decisions with very little influence from his emotions.
This Earth emphasis in his chart, along with a positive aspect between his natal Sun and North Node in Capricorn, causes him to be an analytical, efficient thinker who tends toward commonsense reactions and practical solutions to issues.
He likes to produce tangible results to real problems and utilizes his enormous energy levels to attain his goals.
A self-motivated individual who values independence and likes to direct action, Senator McCain is, nevertheless, a service-minded man who prefers to use his excellent organizational abilities to lead harmonious group endeavors. He thrives in a group environment, thanks to his 11th house Sun. An innate compassion and desire for harmony (benefits of his Libra ascendant), give him a tendency toward diplomacy in communications; he seeks to be a peacemaker.
Senator McCain, like Senator Clinton, should be aware of a tendency toward stubbornness and resistance to change. A perfectionist, there is a predisposition toward fussiness that can sometimes be interpreted as egocentric behavior or self-righteousness. It may even be mistaken for an appearance of emotional aloofness, though he possesses a genuinely compassionate nature. He should also try not to be so goal oriented that he forgets to relax and simply enjoy the company of those around him. Endeavoring to avoid compromise of the self or manipulative means in order to maintain peaceful relationships with those around him should be a focus.
CHART SIGNATURE: Service and duty oriented; strong willed; self-possessed; highly developed sense of personal responsibility; pragmatic, efficient thinker; natural diplomat and peace maker.
