I've Got A Secret...

Secrets…we all have them, we all keep them, and sometimes we share them. We all know that there are some things that we will always want to keep close to our hearts.

Secrets…they can fill us with guilt, make us cry, or they can lift us up and be the reason we face the day.

A few years ago a gentleman named Frank Warren started an art project about Secrets. He handed out postcards in the Washington, D.C. area and asked people to write down their innermost secrets and mail them anonymously to him. They were posted in a public art project. What he didn’t expect was a ground swell of activity would cause those secrets to keep coming. At first, the secrets were on the postcards that he had handed out. Later they came from all over the United States and then worldwide. The second and subsequent round of secrets were drawings, cards, and artistically created in such a way that he had to find another avenue to display them. He started a website called PostSecret. There have since been books, videos via YouTube, art displays and lectures all sharing the secrets. Although, the website is updated every Sunday, other than the books, there are no archives.

I love this website and visit it faithfully every Sunday. It helps me understand that I am not alone in my thinking, actions or feelings. Some weeks I can relate to what I read, some weeks it is just interesting to see what others are sharing. It gives reason for insightful conversation with my family and friends as we share the weekly secrets. They are thought provoking, not censored and show openness to help us understand the underlying thoughts and feelings we all share.

As a Psychic on Psychic Source, I am honored that people are willing to share their secrets with me as we work on the causes, effects, sorrows and joys of those secrets. My friends call me the “Secret Keeper”, a title that I am honored to hold. Someone else’s secrets are just that, theirs. They are only in my mind for a little while; just long enough to use my gifts and Spirit Guides strength in walking the individual through the release of those secrets. I believe that all secrets need to be shared with at least one person. It takes the fear out of the consequences and gives life to hopes, goals and dreams.

Stop by Abbie's favorite website today, and see for yourself. Then call one of the Psychics on Psychic Source, as Abbie does, to share your own secrets.

THANK YOU ABBIE - what a great blog... one that should not be kept a secert.

once a very long time ago i shared a seceret with what i thought was my best friend. she betrayed me and it was such a mess. to this day i do not tell even my best friends my deepest secerts - the only one i trust enough is my husband.

it is indeed an honor to have our callers tell us their secerts, many of them have told me they have never told anyone certain things before, even my dearest friend has said that to me. i guess with our work being so personal keeping a secert is an honor yet also an art. some of the experiencs we hear are so profound i keep them in my minds file cabinet so that when i need to draw on my thoughts for answers i have true experiences to do so.

i am going to go the site now and check it out... thanks again.

I had no idea there were other faithful postsecret devotees right under my nose! I, as well, check postsecret.com every sunday to dig into the new secrets and sneak a peek at other people's interesting and mysterious lives. I even had the pleasure of seeing Frank Warren speak at a Post Secret event on my campus this year. Some of the students right there in the auditorium shared their dark, humorous, inspiring or goofy secrets in front of me! It was a touching and warming experience that brought a group of strangers together, and this remains why I love postsecret so much: we are never alone

Holding secrets for others is  a sacred honor, and you are indeed a wonderful psychic and secret keeper. --Much Love and Light! Moira

Haha, I've never known anyone else who reads postsecret and here I find several of my colleagues have the same guilty pleasure.  Each Sunday morning for about a year now I get up, make myself a cup of tea, and no one had better bother me until I've read postsecret.  I'm an art student as well as working for Psychic Source, the thing I love the most about the secrets is the way that people use the images on the post cards to also reflect their secrets.  Some of them are amazingly beautiful.  Two weeks ago Frank started posting more secrets on his facebook every Sunday, as well as his blog.  Enjoy the extra secrets!!
